StringTown Press

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

Hello Wonderful Writers,

I have had to bank StringTown for the foreseeable future. About four years ago, I became the editor of Willow Springs magazine. Further, this year I was asked to be the series editor for the Katherine Anne Porter Prize. I am grossly behind in reading submissions for StringTown and, between a fulltime teaching job, my own writing, and now the KAP award, there is no time period in the near future where I can imagine I'll be able to put together a new issue.

StringTown has had a good run. Perhaps in my retirement, I will revisit the journal. But for now, it is best that it sleeps. Thank you all for your support. If you're looking for somewhere to submit, give Willow Springs a shot. Good luck in your writing lives, and may you all, too, take part in health of our community by getting involved in the work of publishing, organizing readings, or translating.

There are a lot of great new presses and journals out there. I encourage you all to seek them out and offer them your support.

Take care.

Polly Buckingham
